How do the characters in each of the books: Humishuma's Cogewea, M Buurefly and Plum Bun contradict stereotypes of gender roles and/or ethnicity?

Humishuma's Cogewea: She contradicts the stereotype that skin color determines whether one is a "lady" or a better racer.
M.Butterfly: She/he contradicts the stereotype of a "perfect woman".
