This picture shows power in a subtle way. Look at how Gallimard is grasping Song's neck. He is asserting his dominance over her/him. He is pulling Song in for a kiss, but it is more than that. Only the "dominant" person will hold the "submissive" in that way. He is satisfying his need for power by trying to get "on top of" Song.
